John Q Public is seeking an organized and motivated Project Manager to join our growing organization delivering infrastructure, housing, economic development, and community projects throughout Manitoba.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you’ll manage a diverse portfolio of projects involving municipalities, industry consultants, government agencies, and private-sector partners. You’ll be responsible for infrastructure planning, stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and capital project delivery.
What You’ll Do
- Manage multiple infrastructure, capital, and community development projects simultaneously.
- Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, milestones, and risk management strategies.
- Coordinate consultants, engineers, architects, contractors, municipal partners, and stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to senior leadership.
- Support industrial development and affordable seniors housing initiatives.
- Prepare project reports, executive briefings, presentations, and Board updates.
- Build relationships with municipal governments, Indigenous communities, government agencies, and private-sector partners.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings and project planning sessions.
- Identify project risks and recommend practical solutions.
- Support governance, strategic planning, and organizational reporting.
Qualifications
Education
Degree or diploma in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Planning, Public Administration, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. PMP certification (or working toward one) is an asset.
Experience
- 2-3 years of project management or project coordination experience
- Experience coordinating multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written communication and report-writing abilities.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
Assets include experience with infrastructure, capital projects, construction, municipal government, community development, economic development, grant-funded projects, Indigenous partnerships, engineering consulting, stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and project scheduling.
A valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s Licence and the ability to travel occasionally within Manitoba are required. A Criminal Record Check is required.
